I think Chimborazo, at 6,268 meters, is the highest mountain in Ecuador, unless there is one that drops into the ocean, and measured from its ocean floor base is technically 'taller'. Chimborazo is also the point furthest from the center of the Earth (since the Earth is wider at the equator). So by that measure, the peak of Chimborazo is the 'highest' point on the planet. Mt Everest is the highest above sea level, Mauna Lea is the 'tallest' (from base in the ocean floor).
Mount Chimborazo standing at 6,268 m, or 20,560 ft high is the biggest mountain in Ecuador.
Cuenca is lowest elevation
Chimborazo
Yes. Ecuador contains the highest point on the equator, as well.
The highest point on the earth is Mt. Chimborazo in Ecuador in the Andes mountain chain.
The summit of Mount Chimborazo, Ecuador's highest mountain, is the point on Earth closest to the sun. Due to the mountain's location along the equatorial bulge, its summit is the farthest point from the Earth's core. This also means that Ecuador is the closest country to space.
Chimborazo
Ecuador has many volcanoes like Sangay and Pichincha There is also the Agoyan Waterfall which is the highest waterfall in Ecuador
Chimborazo, Ecuador is the highest point from Earths CG. It is also located along the equator where surface speed is at its maximum.
Chimborazo, at 6,268 metres (20,564 ft), is the highest mountain in Ecuador.
Quito, Ecuador is the world's highest capital city.
Everest is not the highest point on Earth in relationship to it's center. In terms of the point farthest away from the centre of the Earth, Chimborazoin Ecuador (6,267m (20,561ft)) can be considered the planet's most extreme high point. This is due to the Earth's oblate spheroidshape, with points near the Equator being farther out from the centre than those at the poles.
People usually say Cotopaxi, but I reckon Chimborazo may erupt again.
Quito, Ecuador (Highest Legal Capitol) La Paz, Bolivia (Highest Administrative Capitol)
Ecuador has very varied elevation because of the Andes mountains and the coast line. The highest elevation is 6,267 meters at the top of Mt. Chimborazo.
