It didn't happen. There was no 5 billion years ago. Just think about it; it doesn't make any amount of sense whatsoever.
15 billion years ago
Around 5 billion years ago.
a dust cloud
Earth did not exist 5 billion years ago. What would become Earth was part of a collapsing cloud of gas and dust that would eventually form the solar system. Earth itself formed about 4.55 billion years ago. When it first formed it was made largely of molten rock.
All bodies in the Solar System do, but outside of that - the Universe - have their own time frame.
A solar nebula is a place where new stars are formed. Stars are "born" here when giant dust and gas clouds are pulled together under the force of gravity.
According to the astrophysicists that I believe and follow, our solar system began to form about 4.6 billion years ago.
A nebula.
A Cloud of Red Dust was created on 1997-10-06.
Otto Schmidt created the dust cloud theory

Scientists believe that the solar system is about 4.5 billion years old, and that it began as a cloud of interstellar gas and dust. This cloud of matter then condensed and fragmented into tiny ( compared to planets ) objects called planetesimals. These planetesimals then came together due to gravity to from the planets we know now. It is thought that many asteroids are planetesimals that never came together.
