What was the importance of the 26th amendment?

The 26th Amendment was created so that soldiers were able to vote and have say in who made their decisions. Most people don't think that 26th amendment did much for our country, but i think it did a lot because it made more opinions in the world today.
The new age to vote was 18 years old and cause of the big draft of 1996 many soldiers didnt get to vote.
