get a job, iron man is a movie
Iron Man doesn't have a traditional sidekick, like Batman's Robin or Green Arrow's Speedy, but he did ultimately partner with Jim Rhodes who became War Machine then Iron Patriot.
"Iron Patriot" is the code name for a suit of powered armor like Iron Man's in the Marvel comics. Who wears the suit depends on when and where, exactly, you're talking about. Norman Osbourne and James Rhodes have worn it in the main Marvel continuity. In Ultimate Marvel, it's worn by Tony Stark. Again, depending on the continuity, Iron Patriot may just be a rename/new paint job on "War Machine" (James Rhodes).

In "Iron Man 2," the character War Machine was portrayed by Don Cheadle. He took over the role from Terrence Howard, who played James "Rhodey" Rhodes in the first Iron Man film. Cheadle's performance as War Machine brought a new dynamic to the character, particularly in his interactions with Tony Stark.
If you mean the one who wore the war machine or the black/gray iron man his name is : Lt. James Rhodes "rhodey"
Tony Stark throws a party and gets drunk (in the Ironman suit) because he's dying. Colonel Rhodes steps in (in another of the Iron man suits) and a battle goes off. Rhodes ends up taking the suit to give it to Hammer Tech for weapons and Tony Stark gets house arrested by Nick Fury to find a solution to the palladium that's killing him.
"War Machine," whose real name is James Rhodes, is often considered the black version of Iron Man in the Marvel Universe. Rhodes is a close friend of Tony Stark and has worn his own suit of armor, carrying out operations both independently and alongside the Avengers.
