There are few common factors in the spread of Buddhism and the spread the alphabet. Buddhism originated in a country where there was an established writing format (India) and spread to an area China) here there was an established form of writing. If the Latin alphabet as used to day is meant then Buddhism had noting to do with its spread as that alphabet was derived from Phoenician without contact to Sanskrit the original written format of writing in India.
