No, Harding is not generally considered to have been an effective President. There was a huge scandal with his cabinet for one thing. Of course he died without completing his one term. He spent much of time playing golf. I do not think he wanted to be President.
I Think it is a tie between John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan ----------------------------------------------------- Most people agree that John F. Kennedy, Thomas Jefferson, and Franklin Pierce are among the most appealing U.S. presidents.
Probably his biggest failing was his inability to stop corruption in his own administration. While there is little evidence that himself was corrupt, he could not say no to his friends, many of whom turned out to be dishonest and gave his presidency a bad name.
None, at least officially. In the post-civil war America, the last thing the Central _that is Washington) government wanted would be a president with KKK leanings. as far as I know this never happened. and get this fact straight, Robert E.Lee, the best-known Confederate General, was NEVER a KKK member or Founder. Ask ten people who founded the KKK and at least five will say Lee! that"s a matter of logistics.= fact is he was not a Klansman.

Coolidge was the vice-president when President Harding died, and so first became President. He was Harding's vice-president because he was governor of Massachusetts and had worked hard for the party. He was popular as President and was re-elected easily to a term of his own.
