Alliance for Progress
It could have been a possibility that Russia would attack the US and the Allied Forces if the Soviet Union had stayed allied with Italy, Germany and Japan. However, Russia was attacked by the Germans. Their alliance was over. The Russians joined the US, Britain, France and many other nations in their alliance. It was a good thing too because they defeated the eastern front of Europe, Germany and Berlin. It was sad that Stalin could not go along with the democratic Western nations over the issue of letting the defeated or rather liberated nations be self ruling and democratic. Stalin kept the nations he conquered. Thus the Cold War started. There was no fighting oi battles between the US and the Soviet Union in that war.
