Ra is the true and real name. The Egyptians differentiated among the aspects of the sun, and had several gods associated with it. they called the rising sun Khepri. Atum, the setting sun, and Ra, at noon.

There were a few gods and goddesses that the ancient Egyptians associated with the sea.

Nun (primeval god of water and chaos.)

Naunet (chaos and water, consort of Nun)

Neith (sometimes a primal water goddess, mother of Apep, Ra, and Sobek)

Mut (primal mother goddess of the waters, consort Amun, child is Khnum)

Heryshaf (ram headed, creator god, emerged from Nun i.e. primeval waters; "ruler of the riverbanks")

Yam (sea god, Ugarit deity)

There were 3 main gods of water: Hapi who represented the Nile and who was depicted in ancient hieroglyphs with a symbol of running water; Nun and also Osiris.
