The main difference is that the RMS Titanic hit an iceberg and sunk, while the Cheonan was sunk by a North Korean torpedo. They really have nothing in common.

On November 24, 2007 the MS Explorer hit an iceberg off of Antarctica. The crew and passengers were rescued safely by another ship. I'm sure that there were others that had hit and sunk due to icebergs but may have not been recorded or known about.
