Sharecropping was the main labor system in the South after the Civil War. It seemed like a fair idea, but it ended up very similar to slavery. It would keep the laborer in constant debt.
it's either: -civil obedience - religion -industry or -strikes The answer is industry
Basically the NEP was put in place in 1921 by Lenin because the USSR was doing terribly economically due to the First World War, the civil wars, and other things. The country was in famine and he needed to change the economical system. So he gave back some freedom to the peasants, who were finally allowed to keep some of the produce they produced to sell on and gain profit; otherwise, the rest still went to the government.
For all practical purposes, the Northern states at the beginning of the US Civil War was highly industrialized in comparison to the South. The North also enjoyed crop yielding land far enough away from threats by Confederate forces. The North had an extensive railway system and ship building capacity that was a strength for its economy. In the South, cotton and tobacco crops were the mainstay of its economy. The South was also heavily dependent economically on slave labor. This was not the case in the North, except for the slave holding Union border states.
The Southern economy had been devastated by the US Civil War. Most of the battles were fought on Southern soil destroying farms and small industries.Post war Reconstruction, headed by the radical wing of the Republican Party had Southern leaders scrambling on how to keep former slaves economically down and politically impotent. Thus instead of focusing on economic development, Southern leaders used their post war years to install a white power political, social and economic system. This was accomplished as after the years passed, the North went about its westward expansion and left the South to their own devices.
The two biggest bills in any economy is military and health care, so technically all of them. If you are implying which economic system has government paying the most civil bills that would be Communism.
