the colonists went to war with Great Britain to protect their rights as English citizens
dude, really now? because we wanted our freedom and we were tired of their high taxes. we didn't want to be part of their country anymore.
The New England colonists went to war with the natives
After England went out of sight over the stern of their ships.
Yes theydid.
Taxation without representation and the tyranny of the King because the king of England at that time was being too "bossy" to the colonists, and the last straw was`all the taxing and the Boston tea party. they cut ties afterwards and went to war.
They fought because they were tired of being alienated as English citizens and they did not like being under the rule of a king who was at so much fault. They even went to cite the grievances of the king in the Declaration of Independence. Taxation without representation was a reason, but it was not as big many of the others that are often forgotten.
t was right because the colonist had to pay taxes and that money went to king george and england
Colonists lived east of the Appalachians because this is the only land England owned at the time. However, after England won the 7 Years' War, they acquired the land west of the Appalachians, so colonists began migrating there. But, there were tensions between the Natives and the colonists so England had to come up with a solution. King George III created the Proclamation of 1763, which stated that the colonists stay east of the Appalachians and the Indians west. Yet, this was no solution. The colonists were angered because they had just went to war for this region and now they can't even settle there. And even worse, the colonists had been paying taxes to fund this war, basically paying for the region that they are forbidden to live in.
colonists and the british
They gave them their property and lives back after the revolutionary war. Even though some went to Canada and some back to England. That was very nice by the colonists.
they went to England
New England colonists were more likely to maintain English customs because the New England colonies were the first colonies founded by the British. Since these were the first colonies, they were the closest set up to what life was like in England. As colonist began to move farther south, they began adapting new customs that strayed from what British life displayed.
