It was a furniture factory.

Bowman Dairy was located there in the 1940's and early 50's

- Believe it or not, this was the home of Quality Hardware and Machine Corp. This company manufactured the M1 Carbine rifle during WWII, one of nine contractors, including Inland, Rockola (the Juke Box company) IBM, Underwood (typewriters) and National Postal Meter. Quality Hardware made 359,666 M1 rifles, only about 6% of the 6.2 million made between 1942 and 1945. This company is also listed on patents for an automatic coffee type vending machine as well as the Dept. of Energy's list of sites that make parts for the original nuclear bomb.
