Well i think the one you mean is divorced, beheaded, died divorced beheaded survived

I think you might mean

Catherine was the first to go,

I was divorced as of course you know

Lucky me to be left alive

Then of course there were only five

Next to go was Anne Boylyn

As you know I was soon done in

Marched me to the traitors door

Then of course there were only four

Round in a circle we went again

Next to depart was poor queen Jane

If Hal had a heart I held the key

Then of course there were only three

Unfortunately there are another 3 verses but I cannot remember them!

Regards

Chris

I am sure this is the one I learnt at Junior School, but I can only remember the last verse:

Sixth and last came Katherine Parr,

Sixth and last but luckiest by far

For this time it was Henry who,

Popped his cloggs, and a good job too.

The poem about Henry VIII and his six wives is a mnemonic device used to remember the fates of each of his wives: "Divorced, Beheaded, Died; Divorced, Beheaded, Survived." This sequence corresponds to the outcomes of each wife - Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr.
