it is 2010 right now, so this question cannot be answered until the end of the year. at the end of the year an average is made of how many polar bears are left. if we make an effort to stop global warming or at least slow it down, we can save the lives of polar bears and the average can increase from its miniscule number that it is today. please help slow down global warming, by maybe wearing a warm sweatshirt and blanket instead of cranking up the heat. please help us by saving ourselves and the polar bears we all love.

In 1999, the polar bear population was between 18000 and 20000. Today, the population is estimated to be around 22000-25000. Polar bear numbers are difficult to figure, because of their nomadic nature.
The polar bear's main threat is hunting in some nations..The bear is holding its own, and the population is fairly stable.
In that time period, with uncontrolled hunting, the numbers were less than 10,000.
With a population approaching 25000 worldwide, the polar bear is considered threatened, not endangered.
Currently between 20-25000.
there is only 25000 left
