Iraq did no such thing. The attacks were carried out by an organization called the Taliban. This is a groupd of religious Muslim extreamest who kill in the name of their god. This is a rouge organization and is not hosted or supported by the country of Iraq. The Taliban's reason for attacking the towers was to bring death to the infidel (western civilization).
Edit: I'm sorry to tell that also the Taliban did no such thing. The Taliban were and are a group of Muslim extremists, but they were reigning Afghanistan. The Attacks were in fact carried out by Members of the Al Qaida, a decentralised network of also Muslim extremists. When the USA invaded Afghanistan, their reason was that the Taliban gave home to Al Qaida members in their country, hence the misunderstanding.
