Egypt or the Nile Delta
Inhabitants of the Upper Nile are called Nilots
through what region crosses through the nile river
In north-eastern Egypt at the Nile River Delta flowing into the Mediterranean Sea
Because the upper nile always was very small and it often was called the upper nile because ladys had their babys by that river to keep the calm while giving birth.
Since the Nile River flows backwards, the upper part of Egypt is actually named lower Egypt. The Nile does not flow backwards but it does flow north to the Mediterranean Sea -- the northern area near the sea including Cairo and the Nile Delta is called Lower Egypt, while the southern area is called Upper Egypt.
The region of Northern Egypt is termed Lower Egypt because it is further downstream on the Nile River. Conversely, the region of Southern Egypt is termed Upper Egypt because it is further upstream on the Nile River. The Nile River flows from south to north.
North Africa
(The upper and lower refer to the river course.) Because the Nile flows NORTHWARD from equatorial Africa , the "Upper Nile" is the southern end and "Lower Nile" the northern end, where its delta meets the Mediterranean Sea. The "White Nile" is created by the feeder rivers of Lake Victoria in Uganda, while the "Blue Nile" begins in Ethiopia above Addis Ababa. The two Niles flow together some distance north, at Khartoum in Sudan. "LOWER EGYPT" is the name applied to the Nile Delta north of Dahshur (just upriver from Cairo). "UPPER EGYPT" refers to the cataract region downriver from Sudan.
