They split their resources across two fronts allowing gains on the Western front, destroyed 90% of the city with air raids but continued to meet resistance and got bogged down in a prolonged period of guerrilla style fighting where despite their far superior weaponry they got picked off by snipers, then the Red Army sent reinforcing troops who cut off their supply lines in sub-zero temperaturres and they were forced to surrender and ultimately lost the war.
