The Saber Tooth Tiger was about a foot shorter than the modern day lion however, it weighed twice as much. This means they would have been about 4/5 feet long and 3 feet tall, it would have weighed roughly 440 pounds. The Saber Tooth Tiger also has a bobtail rather than a long tail, suggesting that when it hunted it would not chase down its prey but it would wait for its prey to be close and then ambush it. The fur coat, we can only guess, would have probably been a similar colour as a lions today, so as to help with camouflage in order to ambush prey.
There were many types of saber toothed cat, and what they looked like depended on the type.
One of the most famous genera of saber toothed cat was Smilodon. They had muscular, stalky bodies with longer forelimbs than hind legs. They also had a bobtail. They are particularly famous, however, for their upper canine teeth. The canines were too long to even fit in its mouth, so, instead they extended out of the mouth, in front of the lower jaw.
Most saber toothed cat species looked like any other cat, except usually with very strong forelimb and chest muscles, and they had two long canine teeth that actually hung out of the front of the mouth. You can see a picture by clicking on the related link.

Sabertoothed tiger
The real scientific name for sabertoothed tigers of all ages was smilodon.
There were many kinds of sabertoothed cats, and they varied in size from that of a large house cat to that of a tiger or lion, and some were even bigger. The classic saber toothed "tiger" is called Smilodon and the South American species could weigh up to 500 kgs!
sabertoothed tigers.
a tiger is orange with black strips and always has green eyes
The appearance that helps the tiger survive is the stripes that help it hide in the tall grasses so it can catch its prey.
Cats did not evolve from sabertoothed tigers. Rather, sabertoothed cats evolved from other cats. Modern apes evolved from miocene apes, which were somewhat similar. Miocene apes evolved from some lemur-like primate, or perhaps something like a lorise. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loris
A lot of people will say lion , however they are wrong because they are just stupid lion fans that know nothing about a tiger's advantages. The tiger will win because it is stronger! heavier, more agile, bigger, has longer canines, is a better fighter, is smarter, and is not lazy and waits for females to hunt. Tigers rule and lions are no sicken beans
It has stripes in its grey colouring, hence the name "tiger" shark. The tiger shark is a blue and white shark
Apart from their whitish appearance, they are the same as any other tiger.
Climb to the top of the ice mountain and talk to the knight. Watch out- the sabertoothed helicopter is there!
Tiger Woods is basically paid huge appearance fees for playing at every event apart from The Majors and WGC events.
