Cleisthenes (c. 570-508 BC) was a noble and politician of Athens who helped to establish its democratic procedures. He was the son of Megacles and his brother was the grandfather of Pericles of Athens.
Well, the idea of democracy was introduced by Cleisthenes in 508 BC when he overthrew the aristocracies in Athens. I wouldn't say it was discovered in ancient Athens. It will sound better if you say Athens was the birthplace of democracy.
The concepts of democracy and constitution were created in one particular place and time but history can trace it as far back as 508 BC in ancient Athens.
