The Iroquois Confederacy is a patnership that is agreed by the Mohawk, Seneca {the elder brothers] , the Onendaga { the firekeepers} , and the Oneida and Cayuga { the younger brothers} and the sixth nation the Tuscaroa joined the confederarcy later on and was represented by the Oneida in decision making.
The Iroquois Federation should be better known as the Confederacy. It consisted of five Indian Nations: Mohawks, Oneidas, Onondagas, Cayugas, and Senecas, the Tuscaroras became the sixth in 1722. The Confederacy was brought about because of English colonization and brought to an end during the Revolutionary War. This is due in part that the Nations split half siding with British the other half loyal to Colonists.

Answer 1The Iroquois lived in Lake Ontario and in longhouses or Wigwams for large and small families. They live along rivers that provide them with water, and fish to eat. They lived in what is now called "New York State."Answer 2Today and historically, the Haudenosaunee Peoples (often called by their French name: Iroquois) live primarily in upstate New York in the United States. The Tuscarora, uniquely among the Six Nations, were not endemic to the New York area and were actually migrant natives from North Carolina where they had been pushed out by British Colonists. the Haudenosaunee accepted them in the 18th century as the Sixth Nation.
