When Hitler succeeded in East, he turned West. Beginning to mae plans against France, but Soviet struggle to defeat Finland convinced Hitler that the Red Army could easily be beaten by Germany. Afterwards, these two years were a time of success for Germany.

In the early years of WW2, German forces, army and airforce, had the Allies dumbfounded. The German "Blitzkrieg" overcame defenses of France and the Lowlands. Poland in September of 1939 had no answer for the superior strength of German military power. Later when Germany broke its "Non Aggression Pact" with another crazy dictator, Stalin, only the fact that Hitler made the error of opening two fronts saved the USSR from annihilation.
