The Titanic sailed from Southampton on 10 April 1912. The weather was fine.

On April 1st, 1912, Capt. Smith boarded Titanic for sea trials that were postponed for bad weather. She was previously helmed by Capt. Haddock who left on the Olympic the next day for Southampton (and sea trials were successful that day).

Titanic, as most ships of that day, did not have a ballroom. The Olympic, the sister ship of Titanic, did receive a dance floor in her dining saloon in a refit somewhere in the 1920s.
it was a very important day, the Titanic was know as the biggest ship to step sail. Having it sink like it did was a big shock
