Flights from Florida will typically pass by the Bahamas, give wide berth to Cuban airspace, then skirt the island of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic) before reentering U.S. airspace west of Puerto Rico and into the Virgin Islands. Flights from North Carolina northward may pass near Bermudan airspace as well.
