If you're talking actual firearms,the Japanese used the Arisaka 38 and Type 99 rifles along with the Type 100 sub-machine gun while the Americans used the M1 rifle and Thompson sub-machine gun with the BAR(Browning Automatic Rifle).If you are talking things such as naval guns and artillery batteries,I'm not sure if i can answer you there.I only know actual hand-held weapons,not the big guns.
There were several different types of weapons used during the fight at Kokoda. The main ones used were gas chambers and crematories where the people were burned alived.
The Australians only used rifles, revolvers and Lewis Machine guns on the Kokoda Trail. The Japanese, on the other hand, used heavy machine guns, mortars and mountain guns.
It was fought by Aussies vs the Japanese, our only allies in this were the papuans without them many more Australians would have died.
