Disconnect the battery then remove or loosen the top center bolt going towards the fuel tank. I remove the relay from its harness ad best as possible, remove the battery strap (rubber). Then carefully and almost forcefully "finagel" it out of it box. Hope that helps.
XJ750 is a 4 cylinder. Xv750 is a V-Twin
yes, there actually alot simplier than the 750 forks, but u do lose air assist and antidive, but when u have to replace a fork seal ull be happy u did it. I have a xj750j Maxim with xj650g forks on it. didnt know they were different forks till i dug into them, but they rode perfectly smooth. unforfuantly i did loose dual disks on the front, but my single disk is noticably bigger than a one of the dual disks.
There are three color schemes that I know of.. I own an '82 XJ750 SECA that's all-over gray body/black frame, the Hayes Shop book that I have for it has a light burgundy red color bike on the cover. I have also seen a royal blue color on a tail light piece. I've been looking for different colors too.. the gray is nice, but I am looking to shoot the bike a different color.. hope that helps.. TJ
Behind the headlight bucket. It's a remote reservoir and a pain in the neck to clean out, work on.
