Almost everything Helen Keller did was an accomplishment...from discovering that things have names to going to college. When she was younger, her biggest as learning that things have names. Her first 'word' was water. After a hard day, Annie and Helen stopped by their water pump to get a drink. Annie put Helen's hand under the stream and spelled 'water' in the finger alphabet into her other hand. By the time Helen was 10, she had a huge vocabulary, could read and write in Braille, write (messily) in English, and speak!
In 1888 she visited Perkins Institution for the Blind. In 1894, she went to Wright Humanson School in New York. In '96, she went to Cambridge School for Young Ladies. In 1900, she was accepted into Radcliff College. While there, she wrote her first book. When she went to do the entry exams, Annie wasn't allowed into the room with her. (A teacher spelled out the questions into her hand.) Despite the difficulties, she made it in! During classes, Annie spelled lectures into her hand. She made many good friends and was elected vice president of her class. She learned to use a regular typewriter for her homework as well as a Braille typewriter.
As an older woman, Helen gave speeches and lectures. She took voice lessons so people could understand her speeches. She went to Japan to raise money for education of blind and deaf children, because there were so many disabled kids n Japan. Actually, she traveled around the world, lecturing and raising money. People have their own opinions on that kind of question...but this is my opinion: I think Helen Keller's greatest accomplish was graduating from college. She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1904. I think this is her greatest accomplish because she was THE FIRST blind and deaf person to graduate from college with a B.A. degree. AKA: Bachelor Arts Degree. THIS is my opinion: I think mostly everything that she did is a accompleshment. One accomplishment i think was incredible is that she could talk while being deaf!Which is amazing!
