Catholic beliefs did not change at any time in the past 2,000 years. Their beliefs were revealed to them by Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ, andthe Holy Spirithas guided His Church, and He has promised that it would not go into error. The beliefs of the protestants can not be summarized for the simple reason that, even from the beginning, they disagree with each other! The only thing that united all of them was a simple belief that they did not want to follow Christ's Church and were better off making up their own.
