At the time of partition in 1947 only seven sugar mills, existed in the territories of Pakistan, 5 in East Pakistan now known as Bangladesh and only 2 in West Pakistan now known as Pakistan. Uruguay did not establish sugar plantations in the Caribbean. Uruguay is located in South America, and their economy has historically been based on livestock and agriculture, with a focus on crops like soybeans, wheat, and barley. Sugar plantations in the Caribbean were mainly established by European colonial powers like Spain, Portugal, France, and the United Kingdom.
To the best of my knowledge, the Catholic Church, itself, never owned any sugar plantations, many of the people who owed sugar plantations were Catholic, but their plantations did not belong to the church.
