The poor Tudor was only allowed to wear the following colurs: brown, beige, yellow orange, russet, green, grey and blue. A sign of your wealth was measured by the clothes you were wearing what they were made of and the colours. I belive the law that made the poor only able to wear certain clothes was the Sumptuary law
