He had won many book awards and had also had many other things like a healthy marriage, children, etc. He was probably best known for his realistic style of writing and use of dialect that made his characters come to life. he was also known for his wit and humor. Unfortunately, later in his life he became more depressed and lost his touch after his family members died.

Some of the hardships of Mark Twain were his dad, brother, and most of his children dying. His brother really was a big one because his brother died fixing a steamboat. Mark believed that it was his fault because he made his brother become a pilot and if he did not do this his brother would have been alive longer.

At 11 his father died and he was heart broken he had to work a job because of this. When he started to become a pilot on a steamboat he told his brother he should join because he needed a job, a couple months later the steamboat his brother was on exploded! So he felt responsible. So mark twain became a miner and wasn't very good at it and decided to quit because he failed. so he moved all over wanting to become a journalist and one of his friends showed him a picture of his sister and Twain fell in love instantly, so he proposed and she denied he request. 2 months later he asked again and she acepted it.
