The stories of Marco Polo's travels did much to introduce Europeans to China and Asia, etc. Some people believe the tales are fanciful, while others believe them to be true. An internet search will reveal several webpages that offer both views. Also in doubt is that Marco penned the books himself, or narrated the tales to someone else to write them down.
