Unlike the tanks of today, the first tanks while revolutionary, were not what would be acceptable today. They were slow, cramped, hot, and dangerous. The crew members had to have face protection against metal shards flying inside the tank while being hit by machine gun fire. These early tanks were great for the day, but their day has past. To see how early tanks are bad, just look at today's improvements. Today's tanks are faster, better equipped, and they have better armor.
Most of them were poor and young
Not a great deal, the tank had some difficulties with the extremely muddy trench riddled terrain. It showed enormous potential, but while the teething troubles were being sorted the war ended. After the war , of course, every army in the world wanted them.
Mechanically unsound, slow moving, un-reliable.
Some of the long - term effects of the World War 1 tanks were that the future models had to be upgraded to reduce the weaknesses of the earlier tanks. These days, tanks can move faster and have thicker armor.
Yes, world war 1 had tanks. World War 1 was the introduction of battle-ready tanks used in war.
Tanks were used in World War 1 and the Allied tanks were better equipped than the germans' although the germans' were bigger and i think they were faster the Allied tanks were superior to their enemies' WW1 was when tanks were used in large scale for the first time but i think they were invented some time before the war but not long before. hope that helps!!! :-)
Most tanks were mainly made of steel meta. which also included some rubber and some fabrics but not much.
We got 41 war tanks as of now. -- globalfirepower.com
Tanks in WWI were used to break the deadlock of trench warfare. Early tanks were slow and had mechanical problems limiting their effectiveness during WWI.in ww1 tanks were supposed to be used for bombing soldiers or trenches for shooting soldiers and were able to stand against bullets bombs or gas bombs, but in ww1 the tank was used to early it didn't go through the test enough times to prove it was war worthy and the opposing side copied the idea they destroyed tanks at war and made there own but more stronger.
Tanks helped signifantly in wars, due to the protection and fire power capability they had. Without tanks, some of the great wars may have ended very differently.
