Well, the muslim religion was originally intended to be a completely peacful practice. The original intentions were to spread theri beliefs in a peaceful non harmful mannor. They were also obligated to protect the so called homeland of their religion in the Middle East (this isn't accurate though because jews were first in the middle east than christians, catholics and finally muslims).
