Maryland Catholics faced a lot of persecution from non Catholic people and places the largest city Baltimore; named after Lord Baltimore was a critical City in both the revolution and the War of 1812 because of her sitting on Cheasapeake Bay which everyone knows is a direct route to England . Ou National Anthem was writen by Francis Scott Key at fort McHenry in Baltimore.Which was the first narrative song in our history about Baltimore until about 150years later when Bob Dylan wrote The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carrol.. O,K. back to the revolution it seemed that everyone wanted a piece of Baltimore and there was constant skirnishes over land. The colonists in Baltimore and outlying areas were constantly in danger of their towns and even their homes destroyed by fire .which for some reason was very popular back then. But time passed and now it seemed that with the expansion in Marylandevevtually they found crabs all along Maryland's shore and a multi-million business was formed back them . In New York City---Philadelphia the local citizens could not get enough crab meat that some would go into a tavernor restaurantasking for them before they were even seated, One fine gentleman from Albany N.Y. while on business in N.Y.C. asked in a restaurant Do you serve Maryland Crabs here? which the Maitre-d answered sir, we don't care where you are from come on in we serve anybody.
