that the colonists were able to stay on that country
Saratoga established US control. It is often viewed as a turning point of the war, as it was after this battle that Benjamin Franklin was able to convince the French to ally with the United States to help the colonies win the war.
Saratoga was the pivotal battle. Franklin was able to use the victory to convince France to become America's ally. Later-traitor Benedict Arnold was one of the heroes of the battle, receiving a wound that he carried the rest of his life. A statue to an anonymous hero of Saratoga honors his actions in the battle.
During the American Revolutionary War, the Americans won an important battle at Saratoga, New York. That battle showed that an American Army could defeat and capture a British Army in the field. It brought France into the war on the side of the Americans.
The Battle of Antietam was the bloodiest battle Americans have ever participated in. It occurred on September 17, 1862. More Americans died at the battle than any other battle by the U.S.A. Despite their loss, the Union was able to stop the Confederacy from progressing north into Union territory.
One important event in the Battle of Saratoga, was that the Americans gained the high ground above the British. They were able to fire down on the British and eventually be victorious.
that the colonists were able to stay on that country
As a result of the colonists defeating the British at Saratoga, France agreed to aid the colonists and send their navy to fight the British navy (which they did at Yorktown, VA). Saratoga stopped the British army in Northern New York and changed the Revolutionary War from largely being fought in the Northeast to being fought in the central and southern part of the 13 colonies. These crucial colonist victories at Battle of Saratoga persuaded French to support Americans with military aid, and is considered the major turning point in the American Revolution.

The Battle of Saratoga happened during 1777 and was the turning point in the Revolutionary War. Burgoyne was the leader of the British and Horatio Gates was the leader of the Continental Army. The ridge and earthen works at the Battle of Bennis Heights gave American troops the advantage. They could see the British positions from above and were able to direct artillery and infantry attacks more easily.
No one real turning point actually existed. The first turning point is the Battle of Saratoga. That battle showed that the American Army was a serious army and could be a powerful fighting force. It brought France into the conflict on the American Side. Many historians consider that the turning point. Another turning point was the Battle of Kings Mountain in South Carolina. In that battle the Americans figured out how to defeat an army dug in on a mountain top. This was a brand new strategy in warfare. It gave the Americans tremendous respect all over Europe. Thomas Jefferson considered Kings Mountain the most important battle of the war. Another turning point was the Battle of Guilford Court House. In it Lord Cornwallace drove off the army of General Greene but lost over half of his troops in the great pyrrhic victory where Greene had very small losses. At that point motions came before the house of commons in Parliament to stop funding for the War. The end came at Yorktown. General Lafayette had the British bottled up. He waited for Washington to arrive before the final push. For political reasons, he wanted Lord Cornwallace to surrender to General Washington. The fact that an American, George Washington had defeated Lord Cornwallace really impressed Europeans. The real end came in the British Parliament. King George III wanted to continue the war. William Pitt, the younger, explained a new accounting system he had invented. He showed Parliament that taxes on the Americans would never repay the costs of fighting the Americans. At that point the British Parliament refused to spend any more money on the war. What is up players
