World war 1 erupts in the sunmmer of August, 1914. The fact that war erupted in August 1914 did not surprise many Europeans. After all, tensions had torn Europe for years. The tensions were nationalism, militarism, and alliances.
They were both military alliances mainly based in Europe
It was dangerous because the alliances were large and if a war was to start i.e. World war 1, then all the alliances would be triggered creating a large scale war. It posed Nations being forced to be involved in another Nation's crisis.
The alliances were formed in 1914. However the purpose of them was so that the countries who were alliances could be there for one another if the other country was attacked.
