The arguments against Mrs.Roosevelt targeted her humanitarian bent- and some may have had a factual bent. She routinely ran a newspaper column which was syndicated entitled ( My Day) To the best of my knowledge no (woman of politics) has done anything like this before or since. Jackie Kennedy did not pen any columns, nor does the more recent Hillary Clinton. The somewhat controversial writer Westbrook Pegler launched a virtual one-man crusade against Eleanor Roosevelt in His newspaper columns, this was all before my time. Mr. Pegler was a kind of aggressive man of the typewriter, so he could get abrasive.
