The conditions in Japan during WWII were very good. What started the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was the fact that the US cut oil supply in Japan, for no reson. Not only that but the Japanese got no land benefits helping the Allies in WWI. Japan had many other resources but not much mony. Very good army too, just made a few bad decisions half way thru the war. Most of the world agreed that something should be done to prevent the atrocities Japan was committing in China and other countries they had invaded.
