The Dark Days are the days in which the thirteen districts of Panem rose up and fought against the dictating Capitol. However, they did not succeed in defeating them, and district thirteen was destroyed, therefore the Capitol started the yearly Hunger Games, where they remind the twelve districts of what they went through, telling them not to do it again. Why does panem hold The Hunger Games?
A long time ago in Panem, the dark days happened. During the dark days, the citizens of Panem rebelled against the capitol. The capitol forces the districts in line and make sure the dark days never happen again by holding the Hunger Games.
