Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus said these were the two greatest commandments:-
1. Love the Lord your God, with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.
2. Love your neighbour as yourself.
All the law, and the prophets, hang on these two commandments.
Mark {12:28} And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? {12:29} And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is,] Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: {12:30} And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
Yes, the great commandment to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself, is seen by many as summarizing the entire moral law, including the Ten Commandments. Jesus himself taught that all the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
The Ten Commandments were really not given to the Hebrews because they were practiced even at Eden. After the creation, God rested on the seventh-day Sabbath. This Jesus taught when He was on Earth. The great commission is to baptize and make disciples, teaching them to observe all things in which He has taught us. The commandments reveal the character of God, points out or sin, that we may truly know and feel the great need of a Savior.
Christ taught that love fulfils the Old Testament law.
Jesus taught first and foremost, the love of the Heavenly Father, and then the love of our fellow man. He said these were the most important commandments.
In Matthew Jesus said people would be happy if they were "conscience of their spiritual need"
jesus was teaching people about the to respect god and his commandments
Two Great Commandments
Jesus told us there would remain a 'little flock' who adheres to Apostolic teachings.
Wow. Great question. But it seems there are no Christian teachers who are willing to answer it. Shame on them. I just suspect that they are afraid there are more commandments in the NT than in the OT (613). Answer: more than 1000.
Please, please read the Bible! Jesus did not give the Ten Commandments to Moses. Moses received the Ten Commandments from God.
It is related to Jesus' great commandments because these commandments, as we see is also compatible about Jesus' holy participation with the people while he's still in the earth. BUT, according to Him, we have responsibility to do while we are on earth. We need to follow His commandments. Many people say that following God's commandment is really easy, but never. God's commandments can be seen in Exodus 20:2-17. Some knew that our only God is our Father in Heaven, but some not. Those who believe in graven images and bow to them are idol worshipers. It goes by this. When you attend Penitensya, well Lord dont admire you. Because isn't it written in the Bible that your body is THE TEMPLE OF GOD......Just check the verse given so you could find better information. :)
Some of the lessons Jesus taught were called parables.
