They did not have strong motivation to fight, they had poor leadership, their red coats made them easy targets, they were 3000 miles from home which hurt their communication and flow of supplies, they did not have as many allies as the colonies, there was a long coastline to blockade, and there was vast land to conquer and hang onto.
