Perfect! I'm studying this in class. One of the main people is Colonel Ugartechea, a Mexican commander. Another is Colonel John H. Moore, the Texan commander. There's others but I don't remember the names of them.
It was a small affair in terms of troop strength pitting about 100 Mexican soldiers against 140 Texians defending the possesion of a six pounder cannon that the Mexican Army wanted returned. The Battle became known as the Lexington of the War of Texas Independence and among the defenders was Almaron Dickinson a Gonzales Blacksmith and former US artillery soldier who became well known as the Texas Army Artillery Officer at the Battle of the Alamo. His widow Susannah provided most of the first person information that makes up the history of the Battle of the Alamo since she and her daughter were the only pure white Anglo survivors.
(As a footnote for movie fans, the role of Almaron Dickinson in the John Wayne movie "Alamo" (1960), was played by Ken Curtis who went on to play Festus Haggen the sidekick of Marshall Matt Dillon (James Arness) in the "Gunsmoke" TV series,)
There were 100 Mexican Draqgoons under Francisco de Castaneda and about 140 Texians under John Henry Moore.
