Mulato
Spanish European and African Heritage is known as Mulattoes. However there are many different terms for African and Latin heritage as well. Oro Negroes, Mestizo, and Zambo are a few of the terms used for Afro-Latinos.
Zambos
They have preserved Catholicism and the Spanish language and the Caribbean Island cuisine is a ready reminder of their African and Taino Heritage as is the music and dance.
The hierarchical model of the Spanish Colonial Empire was:Peninsulares -- Spaniards born in SpainCriollos / Creoles -- Spaniards born in Latin AmericaMestizos -- People of Mixed Spanish and Indigenous Latin American HeritageIndígenas / Native Indians -- People of Indigenous Latin American HeritageNegros y Mulatos / Blacks and Mulattos -- People of African Heritage or Mixed Heritage where part of the mixture is African.
Of course there were and still are "Black Indians," that is people of African and American Indian heritage. This combination has been with us since the time of the Spanish in Florida and was accelerated by the practice of slavery by certain American Indian tribes in the south. It is estimated that 80% of African-Americans have Indian heritage.
Names indicating a mixed heritage are only common for people groups with a racially mixed background. There never were names for descendants of people of the same race but only different nationalities. In that case, you usually look at their father's nationality and call them either Italian or Spanish.
