In the debate around the ratification of the Constitution in the United States in 1788, those in favor of the Constitution and its concept of a strong centralized government were called Federalists.
Anti-Federalists.
Members of the Federalists party which included Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay supported the ratification of the Constitution. These members believed a centralized government was necessary to preserve the states in the union.
The 55 white men who wrote the constitution were the cream of the colonies and the wealthy educated men. They supported the constitution and didn't ask for others to support it.
The beliefs of the Federalists are that they thought that the Constitution shared the power between the federal government and the states. They supported the Constitution and were called Federalists.
I think that by definition the king did not have supporters in the same way one would characterizes supporters in a "for the people by the people" state. I suggest that a king's "supporters" are subjects because a king would typically inherit the title as opposed to being elected.
