Many of the men fighting for the Tzar during WWI in 1914 were veterans of or were associated with the 1904-1905 Russo-Japanese War. Revolution almost occurred in 1905...in 1914 that accrued experience and knowledge from 1905 was now ripe and mature for full scaled revolution; and it went off in 1917. All against the Tsar.
Im sure there are many effects on the Russian Empire. The main two that I know are that the Russian Empire had to split up alot of its land and they were financially broken.
