The Royalists caused a concern as potential counter revolutionaries and they had many supporters throughout Europe, not the least of which were European Monarchs who feared further popular revolutions.
There was the constant threat of invasion by supporters of the Royalist opposition. Foreign Monarchs opposed the liberties taken by the French in their Revolution and wished to avoid the importation of such radical ideals.

The American Revolution inspired many other revolutions such as the Haitian Revolution and the French Revolution. The American Revolution showed that Revolutions could be started and ended with a good outcome. So the Haitians, Latins, French, and a bunch of other countries revolted.
