lol i got the same question for my h.w and i found out, that they rebel for their political principles. They rebel because they wanted the same rights as Britain, but Britain didn't allow it. The colonists was angry that they didn't have the same rights and have no power...........etc
They thought this because the colonies were run by England at first.
Some reasons of why the colonists rebelled against the British were: 1. The Boston Massacre 2. Taxation without Representation 3. Intolerable Acts 4. Proclamation of 1763 5. The Stamp Act 6. The Quartering Acts 7. The Sugar act
The rights the colonists had as English citizens was that they had the same rights as the people living in England. Basically, there were no changes between the colonists and the English citizens.
