I'm not sure we can speak about "weaknesses" when discussing an author or poet. Benet probably had people who loved his work, and people who did not. But by most accounts, views of him were favorable: his poems and short stories were widely published in respected magazines, and he won a Pulitzer Prize in poetry in 1929.
