There were two major "signs" that had all of Judaea buzzing in anticipation of the Messiah's appearance.

One was the presence of the Roman Empire... the prophet Daniel's "fourth beast" in his seventh chapter dream [Babylon, Persia, Greece & Rome], that was to be destroyed by the hand of God resulting in the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth. The Jews, all reared in the Scriptures, were aware of the four beast governments in the book of Daniel, as well as their historical fulfillment. And they were living under the oppression of Daniel's "fourth beast." The Jews were antsy, waiting for the Messiah to show up and "kick the Romans out." [which, of course, never materialized the way they thought it should have]

But, the main sign was the ongoing ministry of the baptism of repentance by "John the Baptist," fulfilling the prophecy of Malachi and Isaiah.

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful Day of the Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." (Mal.4:5-6)

"The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God." (Isa.40:3)

"...he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. and many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. And he shall go before Him in the Spirit and Power of Elias [Elijah], to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the Just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." (Luke 1:15-17)

John the Baptist had thousands of baptized followers. And all of them looked to him to ID the Messiah when the time came.

"...the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; and looking upon Jesus as He walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus." (John 1:35-37)

"One of the two which heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ." (verses 40-41)

John the Baptist was the biggest sign of the time. He had everyone stirred up expecting the Messiah. He even had the hypocritical Pharisees checking up on him from time to time, to see if he might reveal Him to them. [Matt.3:7-12]

What does the Talmud predict about the messiah's coming?

There are several signs of the coming Messiah within the Torah and the Christian Bible. However, Jewish people do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And whether they believe he was at least a prophet varies from each denomination. Jews still wait for the Messiah to come, though Christians believe that they will not be able to go to Heaven without Jesus as their savior. In the Torah, some of the signs foreshadow a Messiah, but though in the bible Jesus fulfilled all of these, the Torah does not include the time of Jesus in it. Nothing in the Torah proves Jesus is the Messiah, but the signs fit the New Testament's (of the Christian bible) recollection of Jesus. With various authors, written over thousands of years (more than enough proof for any history book), the bible does in fact prove that Jesus fulfilled these prophecies from the Old Testement and the Torah. But, no, the Torah itself does not confirm any of these predictions. It merely gives something to reference to in order to find the Messiah.

What religion believes Jesus Christ is coming back Islam Christianity or both?

Islam believes Jesus Christ was only a prophet, not the Messiah. So the answer is: Christianity, which teaches that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and is coming back, the hope of all Christians.Another Answer:Both do but only Christianity believes Jesus will return as the King of kings. Some branches of Islam teach that Jesus will return to earth not as King or Lord of lords as the Bible teaches, but rather to accompany their 'mahdi' - the Islamic messiah, and to convert the world, including Christianity, to Islam by force.

Why was Jesus hailed as the messiah?

The 'Messiah' is a prophesied leader of the Davidic line that would rise to rule the world; some other prophesies also relate to what this messiah would do. Because of Jesus' ministry, his early followers believed he was the one to fulfill said prophesies, which he did in part, according to the Bible. It is now a commonly-held (although sometimes disputed) teaching of Christianity that further prophesies will be fulfilled upon his second coming and thus his position, and belief in him, as the messiah are cemented in many people's minds.

What made Jews believe that they were messiah?

Jews do not believe they personally are the messiah. Rather, Jews believe they were chosen to introduce ethical monotheism (the belief in one God) to a pagan and polytheistic world. When Judaism emerged as a religion, it was in fact the first to promote the worship of only one Deity. In the Hebrew Bible (what Christians refer to as the "Old Testament" and Jews call the Tanakh), it says that God (whom Muslims call Allah) will send the messiah, but it does not say when this will occur. Since the idea of a promised messiah can be found in the Hebrew Bible, it is not surprising that some people believe he will be Jewish.Christians believe Jesus (who was in fact Jewish) was the promised messiah, but Jews do not agree with this. Jews believe the messiah has not come yet, and they do not believe Jesus did what the messiah was supposed to do. So Jews wait for the messiah, who will be sent when God decides to send him. What religion the messiah will be is up to God; but the Bible clearly states that in the final days, there will be no more prejudice and everyone will unite to worship the one God together.

Can you give some example of messiah sentence?

What did Jews say about second coming of Jesus?

They simply did not believe in it. They were looking for a Messiah to save the nation from the Roman oppression (Luke 1.74,75); not a Saviour such as Jesus. They thought Jesus was simply a prophet, but some believed he was a devil, so if they did not believe in his first coming, how should they believe in his second coming?
