Using the Punnet square method of gene determination, (which I think is soooo fun, 'cause I'm a lab nerd) the baby's blood group phenotype will be either A or B. Naturally, this is barring some weird mutation, etc. because anything is possible in nature. But, generally if one parent is O and the other is AB, then the child will be either A or B.
The types possible are an A or B type baby.
No, the baby cannot be A-. A and B genotypes are codominant and O is recessive. Since the father is B and not AB, his genotype must be either BB or BO. The mother is OO. So there is no way for them to have an AO or AA baby. The baby can be Rhesus negative however, because the father may be heterozygous for the Rhesus factor.
I am no professional so I may be wrong, but normally the child takes after their father so I think the child will be an O negative.
We are looking for the possible blood types of a baby.Parental information:Mother type O -- can only be OO: Gene OFather type AB --can only be AB: Genes A & BBaby receives one gene from each parent: Baby is type AOBaby is type BONO. In this case, since the father is AB, he does not have an O gene to contribute. In order for the baby to be Type O, he must have OO or the O gene from each of his parents.
for sure
it it possible if someone from either parents' family has had it or haves it because of genes
If the mother and father are both type O, the baby cannot be type AB.
Can a-mother and o+ father have ab+ baby
yes
Yes. The mother has to be OO And the father can be either AA or AO So the mother can give one of her O's to the baby and the father can give his O to the baby making it an OO.
yes. mother can be ab negative.
then the baby will be O plus, or AB plus , I think .
There are many possibilities, but two things are certain: at least one parent must be type A or AB, and at least one parent must be Rh + A child with blood type A+ can have the following combinations of parents: Mother A+, Father A+ Mother A+, Father A- Mother A-, Father A+ Mother A+, Father B+ Mother A+, Father B- Mother A-, Father B+ Mother A+, Father AB+ Mother A+, Father AB- Mother A-, Father AB+ Mother A+, Father O+ Mother A+, Father O- Mother A-, Father O+ Mother B+, Father A+ Mother B+, Father A- Mother B-, Father A+ Mother B+, Father AB+ Mother B+, Father AB- Mother B-, Father AB+ Mother AB+, Father A+ Mother AB+, Father A- Mother AB-, Father A+ Mother AB+, Father B+ Mother AB+, Father B- Mother AB-, Father B+ Mother AB+, Father AB+ Mother AB+, Father AB- Mother AB-, Father AB+ Mother AB+, Father O+ Mother AB+, Father O- Mother AB-, Father O+ Mother O+, Father A+ Mother O+, Father A- Mother O-, Father A+ Mother O+, Father AB+ Mother O+, Father AB- Mother O-, Father AB+
the baby may be A or O.
yes
yes
If we are talking about blood types, the father can be B or AB.
Father could be AB, but an O mother is OO. so, AB X OO AO and BO are the only possible alleles from this cross
